About CroneHub

We’re a curated resource hub for women past midlife — and we built ourselves exactly what we couldn’t find anywhere else.

Not a magazine. Not a brand deal. Not an algorithm deciding what you should care about. CroneHub is a hand-curated index of the books, podcasts, films, organizations, influencers, websites, and more that reflect our actual lives — and help us live them fully.

The Name

Yes, we said crone.

We mean it — and we mean it as a compliment. The word has a long history as a term of power: the wise elder, the woman who has seen enough to stop being deferential about it. We’re reclaiming it. Cronehood isn’t a condition that happens to you. It’s something you grow into, and there’s no better time to celebrate that than now.

If the word makes someone uncomfortable, that’s worth examining. We’re not here to soften it.

What We Believe

Women past midlife are creating culture. Writing the books. Building the organizations. Pushing back on the gendered ageism that tells us to get smaller, quieter, and more grateful. We’re not doing any of that.

CroneHub believes:

Post-midlife women are strong, creative, vivid, and powerful.

Gendered ageism — the specific, compounded harm of being both a woman and older — is real, and it’s worth naming directly.

The antidote is connection: with one another, with our Crone Foremothers who built culture before us, and with the resources that help us keep building.

The sisterhood is wide. We’re here for women of every background, body, and ability — and for the younger women growing toward their own Cronehood.

What You’ll Find Here

CroneHub curates across many content types — all relevant to life past midlife, none of it watered down:

Books — fiction, memoir, history, science, and more, for and about women past midlife.

Blogs — personal voices and long-form thinkers writing about the lives we’re actually living.

Films & TV — stories that pass the Bechdel Test and then some.

Videos — documentary, talks, and channels that put women past midlife on screen.

Influencers — people worth following on the things that matter to women past midlife, across every platform.

Magazines — print and digital publications that take us seriously.

Organizations — groups pushing for change in health, policy, workplace, and beyond.

Podcasts — conversations worth having about women’s lives past midlife.

Websites — the best of what’s out there on the topics that matter to us.

How We Choose

We have one test: does this help a woman live well past midlife? That’s the whole filter.

Most of what you’ll find here is by women — this is our project, and our voices lead. But now and then you’ll meet a book by a male ally, or a younger writer whose work speaks straight to our lives. We include it because it’s useful, not because of who made it. Curation is about what serves you, not a membership card.

The one place we hold the line is fiction: those stories should be ours, told in our own voices. Everywhere else, the question isn’t who wrote it — it’s whether it earns a place in your life.

And nothing here is by accident or because someone paid for placement. Every entry is chosen by hand.

Who We Are

CroneHub was founded by Stella Fosse — author, advocate, and proud crone. The project grew out of a simple question: where do women past midlife go to find resources that actually reflect their lives? The answer, too often, was: nowhere good. So we built it.

This is a living project. The index grows. We welcome recommendations from women of all backgrounds — if you know something that belongs here, we want to hear about it.
