Helen Hirsh Spence

Helen Hirsh Spence is the founder and CEO of Top Sixty Over Sixty, an Ottawa-based initiative working to shift the narrative of ageing from decline to opportunity. After five decades in education — from teaching in Munich in the early 1970s to senior leadership in Canadian schools — a direct experience of ageism turned her toward longevity literacy and age-inclusion advocacy.

She is a keynote speaker on ageism and age diversity, delivered a 2024 TEDx talk that passed 100,000 views in its first month, writes the LinkedIn newsletter “Age Sense,” and is co-author of ReSet: Making the Most of the Rest of Your Life (2026).
