Riot Women
Created by Sally Wainwright · United Kingdom · min avg
Sally Wainwright, who wrote Happy Valley and Last Tango in Halifax, on five women in midlife who form a punk band to enter a local talent contest: a teacher, a police officer, a midwife among them. Menopause, rage, caring for parents and the urge to make a great deal of noise all go into the music. BBC and BritBox, 2025; a second series has been announced. In the US it streams on BritBox.
