Laura Poskin spent nearly five years writing an AARP column on livable communities and intergenerational solidarity before taking over Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh. Her talk is about the practical work of making a city a decent place to grow old in.

Why it’s here: The case she makes is an all-ages one rather than a women’s one, but the ground it covers — walkability, isolation, staying put rather than being moved — is where a great many women’s later years are actually decided.
